Norma Morris was an editor and author of college textbooks before she became a publicist. Her textbook on computers, Introduction to Computers and Information Systems, was published by Merrill Publishing Company and earned her an Editorial Excellence Award.
As an entertainment publicist, she has worked closely with Ralph Stanley, Jesse Winchester, Steve Wariner, John Anderson and Exile, among many other acts. Her photographs have appeared in People, TV Guide, The Mother Earth News and Writer's Yearbook. In book promotion, she was the primary publicist for Maxine Brown's Looking Back to See and an associated publicist for Ralph Stanley's Man of Constant Sorrow.
Erin Morris was a writer for Billboard magazine before RCA Records employed her for 10 years to work with such recording artists as Alabama, The Judds, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Clint Black, Vince Gill and Waylon Jennings.
After leaving RCA to co-found her own company, she built a client roster that included Warner Bros. Records, Arista Records, Asylum Records, CMT.com, Martina McBride, The Beach Boys, John Oates (of Hall & Oates), John Michael Montgomery and Pam Tillis.
Her articles have been published in Billboard, Pro Sound News and Modern Recording. She spearheaded publicity for the books Nashville: The Pilgrims of Guitar Town and Chicken Soup for the Country Soul.
Edward Morris taught composition, literature and journalism at Findlay College, Bowling Green State University, Alice Lloyd College and Edinboro State University.
He was subsequently an editor at Writer's Digest and Billboard magazines and a reviewer for BookPage and ForeWord Reviews. Morris' own books include Alabama (Contemporary Books), Garth Brooks: Platinum Cowboy (St. Martin's Press) and At Carter Stanley's Grave: Musings on Country Music and Musicians (Storm Coast Press). In addition, he was a contributor to Classic Country: The Golden Age of Country Music and Legends of Classic Country (both Time Life Books) and The Roads That Brought Us Home: The Odyssey of Three West Virginia Brothers (Mountain State Press).
His articles have appeared in Advertising Age, Salon, Journal of Country Music, TV Guide, Hollywood Reporter, McCall's, MSNBC Online, The Mother Earth News, Guitar World Acoustic and elsewhere. In 2002, his scholarly articles, commentaries and reporting won him the Charlie Lamb Award for Excellence in Country Music Journalism from the International Country Music Conference.
He has guest-lectured to classes at Vanderbilt University, Belmont University, Middle Tennessee State University and Trevecca Nazarene University.
